Programme:

Interaction of atoms and molecules with intense laser fields (20 hour):

  • Introduction and Keldysh parameter (2 hours)
  • Processes occurring in intense laser fields (4 hours)
  • Theoretical description of strong-field physics with low-frequency fields (8 hours)
  • Theoretical description of strong-field physics with high-frequency fields (6 hours)

     

Generation and application of extreme ultraviolet radiation and X-ray pulses (14 hours):

  • Properties of XUV radiation generated by HHG (6 hours)
  • XUV pulses generated by Free Electron Lasers (6 hours)
  • Transport, focusing and characterization of XUV radiation (2 hours)

     

Generation and characterization of few-cycle laser pulses (14 hours):

  • Hollow-fiber compressor (2 hours)
  • Optical parametric amplification (4 hours)
  • Temporal characterization (4 hours)
  • Carrier-envelope phase of ultrashort pulses (4 hours)

     

Attosecond spectroscopy (12 hours):

  • Time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (4 hours)
  • Photoion spectroscopy (2 hours)
  • Coincidence spectroscopy (2 hours)
  • Transient absorption spectroscopy (2 hours)
  • High-harmonic spectroscopy (2 hours)
     

Total: 60 hours
