Benjamin did his undergraduate studies in Physics at the Radboud University in Nijmegen and came for his Masters to Freiburg. He did his Masters thesis in the group of Prof. Giuseppe Sansone with the title 'Temporal compression of femtosecond pulses using a multi-pass cell'. After that he started his PhD and is member of the RTG-DynCAM. For his project, he will use the temporally compressed pulses of the multi-pass cell to generate attosecond pulses and investigate single-photon double ionisation in atoms.
